Ted Beneke had an accident in his home, resulting in a severe head injury.
Ted Beneke, the owner of Beneke Fabricators and a former romantic interest of Skyler White, Walter White’s wife, becomes involved in a subplot concerning financial fraud. Skyler, who was employed at Beneke Fabricators, discovers that Ted has been committing tax fraud. Later, when Skyler becomes involved in Walter’s illicit drug business, she uses the ill-gotten gains to help Ted pay off his IRS debt, hoping to keep her own involvement in the fraud from being uncovered.
However, Ted is reluctant to use the money for the IRS and instead plans to restart his business. To force his hand, Skyler enlists the help of Saul Goodman, who sends his henchmen, Huell and Kuby, to make sure Ted pays his debt. In an attempt to flee from them, Ted trips on a rug and crashes headfirst into a piece of furniture in his home. This accident leaves him with a severe cervical spine injury, which is later revealed to have rendered him paralyzed from the neck down. Ted’s accident serves as a stark reminder of the far-reaching consequences of the main characters’ actions throughout the series.
