Tara encounters a new community called Oceanside. Later, she struggles with the decision to tell her group about them.
In “The Walking Dead” Season 7, Tara Chambler, played by Alanna Masterson, finds herself separated from the main group of survivors. In the episode titled “Swear,” Tara discovers a hidden and secluded community comprised entirely of women and children, known as Oceanside. This community has managed to stay off the radar of the Saviors, the primary antagonists of the season, by living in isolation and killing on sight anyone who discovers their existence.
During her time in Oceanside, Tara learns that the community’s seclusion is a direct result of a tragic encounter with the Saviors, where all the male members of their community were killed. Despite their initial distrust and hostility towards her, Tara eventually forms a bond with a young girl named Cyndie, who saves her life multiple times.
Tara is faced with a moral dilemma when she returns to Alexandria. She promised the people of Oceanside that she would keep their secret, but she also knows that her friends are desperately in need of weapons to stand a chance against the Saviors. After much contemplation, Tara ultimately decides to honor her promise to Cyndie and does not immediately disclose the existence of Oceanside to her group. However, as the season progresses and the need for arms becomes more pressing, Tara is compelled to reveal Oceanside’s location to Rick and the others, leading to a tense and morally complex situation as they consider how to approach the community for help in their fight against the Saviors.
