Rose’s grandchildren, Serena and Jeffrey, were taken in by their grandmother after their parents were unable to care for them. They lived with Rose at the Walton’s home for a while.
Rose Burton, a cousin of the Walton family, appeared in the later seasons of “The Waltons.” She came to stay with the Waltons to help take care of the household as Olivia Walton was away for tuberculosis treatment. Rose had two grandchildren, Serena and Jeffrey. Their mother, Rose’s daughter, was unable to care for them due to personal issues, and their father was not in the picture.
Serena and Jeffrey initially had some trouble adjusting to life on Walton’s Mountain. They often felt out of place and struggled with the rules and work ethic that the Walton family lived by. However, over time, they became part of the family and the community. Serena, the younger of the two, was sweet and generally well-behaved, while Jeffrey was more rebellious and often got into mischief.
Throughout their time on the show, both children faced various challenges and learned valuable life lessons. They were involved in storylines that addressed issues such as honesty, responsibility, and the importance of family. By the end of their arc on the series, Serena and Jeffrey had grown and matured significantly, thanks in large part to the love and guidance of their grandmother Rose and the entire Walton family.
