Javier Escuella is captured by the Pinkertons during the events of Red Dead Redemption 2. Later, he is either killed or arrested, depending on the player’s actions.
In the game, Javier Escuella is a former member of the Van der Linde gang, which the protagonist, Arthur Morgan, is also a part of. As the story progresses and the gang begins to fall apart, Javier remains loyal to Dutch van der Linde, the gang’s leader. During the final chapters of the game, the gang splits, and members are forced to choose sides between Dutch and Arthur.
Javier’s fate is ultimately determined in the game’s epilogue, which takes place several years after the main events of Red Dead Redemption 2. In the epilogue, the player controls John Marston, another former gang member, who is hunting down the remaining members of the Van der Linde gang to secure a future for his family.
