Big Kenny from Big & Rich took a break from music to focus on personal projects and humanitarian work. He continues to perform with the duo occasionally.
Kenny Alphin, better known as Big Kenny, is one half of the country music duo Big & Rich, which he formed with John Rich. After the duo’s initial success in the mid-2000s with hits like “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy),” they decided to take a hiatus in 2008. During this break, Big Kenny focused on his solo career, releasing the album “The Quiet Times of a Rock and Roll Farm Boy” in 2009.
Apart from his music, Big Kenny is known for his philanthropic efforts. He has been actively involved in various humanitarian causes, particularly in support of disaster relief and poverty alleviation. One of his notable projects is the Love Everybody Fund, which he established to support charitable endeavors both in the United States and abroad.
In 2010, Big & Rich reunited and have since released new music and toured together. They continue to balance their group projects with their individual pursuits. Big Kenny’s passion for music remains strong, but he also dedicates significant time and resources to his philanthropic work, which has become an integral part of his life and career.
