Aurora de Martel was placed in a sleeping spell by Freya Mikaelson.
In “The Originals,” Aurora de Martel, played by Rebecca Breeds, is a vampire and a former lover of Klaus Mikaelson. She is introduced in the third season as part of the storyline involving the first sired vampires, known as “The Trinity.” Aurora is depicted as mentally unstable and vengeful, particularly towards Klaus and his family.
During the course of the season, Aurora’s actions become increasingly erratic and dangerous, leading to various conflicts with the Mikaelsons. Her fate is sealed in the episode “The Devil Comes Here and Sighs,” when Freya Mikaelson, seeking to protect her family and neutralize threats, casts a powerful sleeping spell on Aurora. This spell places Aurora in an indefinite slumber, effectively removing her from the chessboard without killing her, as her death could have triggered a deadly chain reaction among the sire lines of vampires.
Aurora’s body is then hidden in a secret location to prevent her from being awakened. The show does not revisit her character after this point, leaving her fate unresolved by the series’ conclusion.
