The Nile Hilton Hotel was rebranded as the Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo after undergoing extensive renovations.
Originally opened in 1959, the Nile Hilton Hotel was one of Cairo’s most iconic hotels, situated in a prime location overlooking the Nile River and adjacent to Tahrir Square. For decades, it was a symbol of luxury and a hub for tourists, diplomats, and the Egyptian elite.
In 2009, the hotel closed its doors for a major refurbishment. The renovation process was extensive, aiming to modernize the facilities while preserving the hotel’s classic charm and historical significance. The Hilton management ended their contract, and the hotel’s ownership decided to partner with the Ritz-Carlton company.
After a multi-year renovation estimated to cost over $100 million, the hotel reopened in 2015 as the Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo. The new hotel features updated rooms and suites, state-of-the-art amenities, luxurious dining options, and a contemporary design that pays homage to Egyptian culture and the hotel’s storied past. The Ritz-Carlton has aimed to maintain the hotel’s prestigious reputation while providing guests with modern comfort and elegance.
