Salvage Dawgs, a popular TV show on the DIY Network, ended after 11 seasons. The series finale aired in November 2019.
The show featured the team from Black Dog Salvage, a Roanoke, Virginia-based architectural salvage business, as they rescued and repurposed old architectural elements from historic buildings that were being demolished or renovated. Throughout its run, “Salvage Dawgs” gained a dedicated following, thanks to its focus on preservation and the charismatic team, including co-owners Mike Whiteside and Robert Kulp, along with their crew.
Despite its popularity, the decision to end the show was made after the network underwent changes in its programming strategy. The DIY Network was rebranded as Magnolia Network, and as a result, many shows, including “Salvage Dawgs,” were not renewed or were moved to other platforms.
However, the end of the show did not mark the end of Black Dog Salvage’s journey. The business continues to operate, and the team still engages in salvage operations, sharing their adventures through social media and other outlets. They also expanded their business to include a marketplace for salvaged items, custom designs, and DIY inspiration. Fans of the show can still enjoy the spirit of “Salvage Dawgs” by following the team’s ongoing projects and visiting their store, either in person or online.
