O-Zone, the Moldovan pop music trio, disbanded in 2005. The members pursued solo careers but have occasionally reunited for special performances.
Initially formed in 1998, O-Zone gained international fame with their hit single “Dragostea Din Tei” in 2004, also known as the “Numa Numa” song. The group, consisting of Dan Bălan, Radu Sîrbu, and Arsenie Todiraș, enjoyed widespread success in many European countries. However, in 2005, they decided to part ways to focus on individual projects.
Dan Bălan continued his music career with notable success, creating hits like “Chica Bomb” and is also known for his project Crazy Loop. Radu Sîrbu established his own record studio, Rassada Music, and pursued a solo career as well. Arsenie Todiraș, also known as Arsenium, represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song “Loca” and continued releasing music as a solo artist.
Despite their split, the members of O-Zone have occasionally come together for reunion performances, which have been well-received by fans. Their legacy, particularly the viral spread of “Dragostea Din Tei” on the internet, has left a lasting impact on the European pop music scene.
