O Face Bar, featured on “Bar Rescue,” ultimately closed down.
The O Face Bar was featured on the reality TV show “Bar Rescue” in 2014, during the show’s third season. The bar, located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, was notorious for its dysfunctional staff and management issues. Despite the efforts of Jon Taffer and his team to turn the bar around, including a rebranding to “Barleycorn’s,” the establishment faced numerous challenges after the show aired.
The episode itself was controversial due to the behavior of the staff and owners, which included inappropriate conduct and a lack of professionalism. After the intervention, the bar initially showed some signs of improvement, but it was short-lived. The bar reverted to its original name, O Face Bar, not long after the episode aired.
In the years following the “Bar Rescue” makeover, the bar continued to struggle. Legal troubles plagued the establishment, including an incident involving the owner that led to negative publicity. These issues, combined with the bar’s inability to shake off its negative reputation, contributed to its eventual closure.
The O Face Bar’s closure was a result of a combination of factors, including the owners’ legal issues, the staff’s behavior, and the inability to maintain the positive changes suggested by the “Bar Rescue” team. The bar’s reputation never fully recovered from the negative portrayal on the show, and it ultimately led to the establishment shutting its doors for good.
