Homelander’s son, Ryan, accidentally killed his mother, Becca, while trying to save her from Homelander. He is currently in protective custody.
In the Amazon Prime series “The Boys,” Homelander, the narcissistic and sociopathic superhero, discovers he has a son named Ryan, who was secretly raised by his mother, Becca Butcher. Becca was impregnated by Homelander in a non-consensual encounter, and Vought International, the corporation managing the superheroes, hid her and the child to protect their assets and conduct experiments on Ryan, who inherited his father’s powers.
Throughout the series, Homelander seeks to form a relationship with Ryan, attempting to teach him about his powers and his view of the world. However, Becca, along with Billy Butcher, who is Becca’s husband and has a vendetta against Homelander, try to keep Ryan safe and away from his father’s corrupting influence.
The situation comes to a head in the season 2 finale when Homelander and Stormfront, another superhero and Homelander’s love interest, confront Becca and Ryan. In an attempt to protect his mother from Stormfront, who is attacking her, Ryan uses his powers for the first time, resulting in a blast that inadvertently kills Becca. This tragic event leaves Ryan traumatized and alone, as he is the only family member left.
After Becca’s death, Billy Butcher decides to honor her last wish, which is to keep Ryan safe from Homelander and Vought. Ryan is last seen being taken away by the CIA for his protection, with Mallory, a former CIA operative, assuring Butcher that the boy will be cared for. The future remains uncertain for Ryan, as he grapples with the consequences of his actions and the potential threat he poses with his inherited abilities.
