Harry Osborn, played by James Franco, gets half of his face disfigured in “Spider-Man 3” during a fight with Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
In the film, Harry Osborn takes up his father’s mantle as the New Goblin to avenge his death, believing Spider-Man to be responsible. After discovering Peter Parker is Spider-Man and confronting him about his father’s death, Harry becomes Peter’s enemy. The disfigurement occurs during a battle between Harry and Peter, where Harry’s own pumpkin bomb is redirected at him by Peter, causing an explosion close to Harry’s face. This results in severe burns and scars on one side of his face, visually and symbolically marking the consequences of his vendetta and the escalation of the conflict between the two former friends. Harry’s injury serves as a turning point in his character arc, ultimately leading to his redemption as he comes to terms with the truth about his father and decides to help Peter in the final battle against Venom and Sandman.
