Glover’s pants were stolen by a mischievous monkey.
While Glover was on a research trip in the Amazon rainforest, he encountered a group of capuchin monkeys. Fascinated by their behavior, he spent hours observing and taking notes. During one of these sessions, he removed his pants due to the intense heat and hung them on a nearby branch. His focus entirely on the primates, he didn’t notice one particularly bold monkey approach his makeshift clothesline. The monkey, intrigued by the texture and possibly the smell of the pants, snatched them and swiftly climbed up a tree. Despite Glover’s attempts to retrieve his pants, the monkey was too quick and agile, disappearing into the dense canopy with the garment. The incident left Glover in a rather awkward and uncomfortable position, having to trek back to his camp in his underwear. This unexpected encounter not only provided a humorous anecdote for Glover to share but also a unique insight into the curiosity and opportunistic nature of the capuchin monkeys he was studying.
