Evan Bourne, whose real name is Matthew Korklan, left WWE in 2014 and has since wrestled in various other promotions under the ring name Matt Sydal.
After his departure from WWE, Evan Bourne returned to the independent wrestling circuit. He also made appearances in promotions such as Ring of Honor (ROH) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). In ROH, he formed a tag team with ACH called the “Aerial Assassins” and competed for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. In NJPW, he participated in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament and had notable matches against some of the promotion’s top talent.
In 2017, Bourne, now wrestling as Matt Sydal, joined Impact Wrestling, where he achieved considerable success. He won the Impact X Division Championship and the Impact Grand Championship during his time there. His high-flying style and technical skills continued to make him a popular figure among wrestling fans.
Sydal has also made appearances in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he has competed against a variety of opponents and participated in events such as the Casino Battle Royale at AEW All Out. His career post-WWE has been marked by a dedication to his craft and a willingness to evolve as a performer, ensuring that he remains a relevant and exciting wrestler on the independent scene and in major promotions outside of WWE.
