Dean Vaughn was one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims who was murdered in 1991.
Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, was a serial killer who murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Dean Vaughn, whose full name was Anthony Dean Sears, met Dahmer at a gay bar in March 1991. Vaughn was 26 years old at the time of his death. Dahmer lured Vaughn to his grandmother’s house, where he lived at the time, with the promise of spending the night together. Once there, Dahmer drugged Vaughn and strangled him to death.
After killing Vaughn, Dahmer performed his usual gruesome ritual of dismembering the body. He preserved Vaughn’s head and genitalia in acetone and stored them in his locker at work. Vaughn’s remains were later discovered in Dahmer’s apartment after his arrest in July 1991. The discovery of Vaughn’s and other victims’ remains revealed the extent of Dahmer’s horrific crimes, which shocked the public and law enforcement alike. Dahmer was eventually convicted of 15 of the murders and was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms in prison. He was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994.
