Dave Canterbury was replaced on “Dual Survival” after two seasons due to discrepancies found in his background and military claims.
Dave Canterbury joined “Dual Survival” as a co-host when the show premiered in 2010. He appeared alongside Cody Lundin, and together they demonstrated various survival techniques in different environments. However, after the second season, it was revealed that Canterbury had exaggerated his military record and background. Discovery Channel decided to part ways with him as a result of these discrepancies.
Canterbury had claimed to have extensive military experience, including being a Ranger, a sniper, and serving in combat, but a military records check revealed that while he did serve in the Army, his service did not include the claimed special forces experience. This controversy led to his departure from the show, and he was replaced by Joseph Teti in the third season.
After leaving “Dual Survival,” Canterbury continued to pursue his passion for teaching survival skills. He runs the Pathfinder School in Ohio, which is one of the top survival schools in the United States. He also has a popular YouTube channel where he shares survival tips and techniques. Despite the controversy, Canterbury has maintained a dedicated following within the survivalist community and continues to be a respected figure in the field of wilderness survival training.
