Big & Rich went on hiatus in 2008 but reunited in 2011 and have continued to tour and release new music.
Initially formed in 1998, Big & Rich is a country music duo composed of Big Kenny and John Rich. They gained popularity in the early 2000s with hits like “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” After several years of success, they decided to take a break in 2008 to focus on solo careers and personal projects. During this period, John Rich released solo material and won “The Celebrity Apprentice,” while Big Kenny engaged in humanitarian work and also released solo music.
The duo announced their reunion in 2011 with the single “Fake ID,” which was featured in the film “Footloose.” Since then, they have continued to produce music and tour, maintaining a presence in the country music scene. Their later albums include “Hillbilly Jedi” (2012), “Gravity” (2014), and “Did It for the Party” (2017). Despite the challenges of the music industry and evolving musical tastes, Big & Rich have managed to stay relevant by blending their unique style with contemporary country sounds and collaborating with other artists. They remain active in both touring and songwriting, contributing to the landscape of modern country music.
