Adam’s wife, Kono Kalakaua, left Hawaii to start a new life on the mainland.
Kono Kalakaua, played by Grace Park, was a main character on “Hawaii Five-0” for several seasons. She was married to Adam Noshimuri, portrayed by Ian Anthony Dale. In the show, Kono, who was a member of the Hawaii Five-0 task force, decided to leave Hawaii to lead a task force on the mainland that focused on sex trafficking. This storyline was introduced at the end of Season 7 and was the reason for her character’s departure from the series. The decision for Kono to leave was made in part due to Grace Park’s decision to exit the show. Her departure, along with that of Daniel Dae Kim, who played Chin Ho Kelly, was announced before the start of Season 8 and was attributed to contract disputes that were widely reported in the media. As a result, Kono’s character was written out of the show, and she did not return in subsequent seasons, although she was occasionally mentioned. Adam Noshimuri remained on the show and his character’s storyline continued to develop, including dealing with the absence of his wife and facing various personal and professional challenges.
