Laurie Strode’s son, John, survives the events of “Halloween H20: 20 Years Later.”
In “Halloween H20: 20 Years Later,” Laurie Strode, now living under the assumed name Keri Tate, is the headmistress of a private boarding school in Northern California. She has a teenage son named John, played by Josh Hartnett, who is unaware of his mother’s true identity and her horrific past with Michael Myers.
Throughout the film, Laurie struggles with the trauma from her encounters with Michael Myers and the fear that he may return. Her worst nightmare comes true when Myers discovers her whereabouts and comes to the school on Halloween, 20 years after his original killing spree.
John and his girlfriend Molly, along with a few friends, decide to have a secret Halloween party in the school, which puts them in Michael’s path. Laurie eventually reveals her true identity to her son and explains the danger they are in. As Michael begins his attack, Laurie and John work together to survive.
Despite several close calls and tense moments, John manages to avoid being killed by his uncle, Michael Myers. Laurie takes the fight to Michael, determined to protect her son and end the nightmare once and for all. After a confrontation where Laurie and John manage to escape, Laurie decides to confront Michael head-on, leading to a final showdown between brother and sister.
In the end, Laurie decapitates Michael with an axe, seemingly killing him and ending the threat. John’s character does not appear in subsequent sequels, and his fate beyond “Halloween H20” is not addressed in the films that follow. The series was later rebooted, and the continuity of “Halloween H20” was retconned with the release of the 2018 film “Halloween,” which ignores all sequels past the original 1978 film.
