No conclusive resolution has been reached in the case of baby Gabriel.
In December 2009, eight-month-old Gabriel Johnson disappeared in Arizona. His mother, Elizabeth Johnson, took him to Texas where she initially claimed she had killed him, but later changed her story to say she had given him to an anonymous couple. Despite extensive investigations and several leads, authorities have not been able to determine Gabriel’s whereabouts or confirm his well-being.
Elizabeth Johnson was found guilty of unlawful imprisonment, custodial interference, and conspiracy to commit custodial interference. She was sentenced to 5.25 years in prison but was released in 2014 after serving less than half her sentence due to credit for time served and good behavior.
The case remains open, with Gabriel’s fate unknown. Over the years, there have been various tips and purported sightings, but none have led to Gabriel being found. The case has attracted national attention, with both local law enforcement and the FBI involved in the search. Volunteers and various organizations have also participated in efforts to locate Gabriel or uncover new information that could lead to a resolution in the case. Gabriel’s father, Logan McQueary, has never given up hope of finding his son, and the case continues to be a heart-wrenching mystery with no definitive answers.
