Ferdinand’s dad, also known as Ferdinand I, died of old age.
Ferdinand’s father, Ferdinand I, was the Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary, Croatia, and Bohemia. He was born on April 19, 1793, and took the throne after the abdication of his father, Francis II, in 1835. Ferdinand I was not in the best of health and had limited capabilities due to various medical issues. Despite this, he reigned until 1848, when he abdicated in favor of his nephew, Franz Joseph, due to the pressures of the revolutions that were sweeping across Europe at the time.
After his abdication, Ferdinand I lived a relatively quiet life. He moved to Hradčany Castle in Prague, where he lived until his death. He passed away on June 29, 1875, at the age of 82. His death was attributed to old age, and he was buried in the Imperial Crypt in Vienna, a traditional resting place for members of the House of Habsburg. His passing marked the end of an era, as he was the last reigning monarch of the Austrian Empire who was born in the 18th century.
