I stopped writing book reviews due to time constraints and other commitments. However, I plan to resume them in the future when my schedule allows.
Initially, my passion for literature and sharing insights with fellow readers drove me to start writing book reviews. I enjoyed the process of delving deep into the themes, characters, and narratives, and articulating my thoughts and critiques. It was a fulfilling hobby that not only allowed me to engage with a community of readers but also helped me to refine my analytical skills and writing ability.
However, as time went on, my personal and professional responsibilities began to mount. Balancing a full-time job, family obligations, and other interests became increasingly challenging. The time I could dedicate to reading—let alone writing thoughtful and thorough reviews—diminished significantly. I found myself struggling to keep up with the pace I had set for myself, and the quality of my reviews suffered as a result.
I made the difficult decision to put my book review endeavors on hold. This hiatus was not something I took lightly, as I value the connections I’ve made and the dialogue I’ve fostered within the book-loving community. I believe it’s important to give each review the attention and consideration it deserves, and I couldn’t do that under the circumstances.
Looking ahead, I am optimistic about returning to book reviewing. I am actively working on finding a better balance in my life, which includes carving out dedicated time for reading and writing. I am also exploring new formats and platforms that might allow for a more sustainable approach to my reviews. My hope is to come back with fresh perspectives and renewed energy, ready to share my love for books with an audience that appreciates the depth and nuance of literary critique.
