As with every culture, different outfits tell their story or show their identity. Streetwear has become more praised in fashion than it used to be. In fact, it has evolved from being a casual outfit for casual occasions to making an appearance in high fashion.

These days, you don’t need to be a fan of street fashion to try streetwear. However, despite its popularity, the term streetwear still often confuses people. Several different types of popular clothing fall into this category.

Here’s an article to review the different kinds of streetwear and the many subgenres that fall under them.

Tech wear

Where are all the tech dudes? Not to say that women don’t belong in the tech world, but when a woman is tech-savvy, she’s always thinking about her next biggest invention. No woman in tech has the time or patience for heels. Tech wear is those cool outfits that are so comfortable and relaxed; it allows all the tech dudes to move around and brainstorm easily. These outfits include graphic tee shirts, shorts, sneakers, air Jordans and face caps.

Skatewear

Skateboarders have made taking risks so much fun to watch and do. If you think skating isn’t risky, you probably haven’t seen it live. The way they swing, flip and fling themselves through the air to land on the skateboard and do another is beyond words. Skateboarders do a lot of jumping, and it’s obvious they’ll need comfortable clothing. No wonder they are often found in combat trousers, shorts, hoodies or graphic shirts, and backpacks.

Business casual

With Gen Z, it isn’t business as usual. This generation has found a way to make everything look “cool,” even with business. Previously, business was taken seriously, as work clothes must be a suit, pants, dress shirts, and shoes, but with Gen Z, a business outfit can be casual and more relaxed. We often see people go to work wearing shirts and denim jackets, slacks, denim pants, and sneakers with cool backpacks instead of briefcases.

Athleisure

Athleisure is a beautiful blend of athletics and leisure. Simply put, these outfits are athletic but mostly worn for leisure. Every individual has tried this type of streetwear before. It could have been for a sporting event or a walk in the street. Whatever it is, these outfits are comfortable and easy to pull off. They include; joggers, sneakers, sweatpants, and leggings. Athleisure is relaxed streetwear as it requires very minimal effort to pull off.

Clout chasers

Do we need to say much about this category? It’s already in the name. Clout chasers were not a thing until social media. Clout chasers will do ridiculous things to gain attention and followers. Clout chasers wear the most expensive things and high fashion because it puts them out there to be seen. They wear famous fashion designer clothing and rear hard-to-find pieces. Such as gold belts, diamond gloves, or outfits made with crystals, all those exorbitant stuff

Sportswear

As with every culture, sport is a culture of its own, and they have their cultural attires. Sports require a lot of body movement, so athletes must be in fitting clothes. Clothes that allow them to move freely, clothes that aren’t heavy or ill-fitting, clothes that allow them to give their 100%. While different sports require different sportswear, general sportswear includes; tights, leggings, sneakers, and tank tops.

Hype Beast

This culture is almost self-explanatory. This streetwear is based on influence. Outfits of the hype beast culture are worn mainly by social media influencers who can get their hands on rare and exclusive items from the designers directly. Some of these designers use these hype beasts to advertise their new products. Outfits for hype beasts include branded clothing or items yet to be released to the market.

Surf culture

Surfing is another terrific activity that requires excellent skills to pull; otherwise, it would just be a catastrophe. Sometimes a funny catastrophe, sometimes not, but whichever happens, this is a culture on its own, and we’ll love it. Though surfing is done in the waters, many clothing items are required. Mostly a bathing suit, tights, goggles, surfboard, shorts, oversized shirts, and your heart on your sleeves.

Matured streetwear

Streetwear can’t be put in a box or associated with a particular age group; this category is for those older in the flesh but still have a young spirit. Because of their physical body, they can’t wear some of the clothing these youngsters wear, so we had to find their category, and we are all here for it. Matured street wears are usually a little added feature to what a youngster would wear. Instead of a hoodie, mature people would wear an overcoat and choose dress pants over slacks or shorts and simple slides instead of sneakers.

Japanese streetwear

Japanese streetwear is a hybrid of Japanese culture and street, making it an exciting blend. This fashion is seen among Japanese youths, pop stars, and sometimes among youngsters of other cultures. They typically look good, and it’s not surprising how quickly they are becoming everyday outfits. Japanese streetwear is usually oversized shirts, pants, high platform shoes, neon striped jackets, etc.

Conclusion

We’ll love fashion. However, modern fashion’s changing dynamics often make it difficult to keep up. Moving with the trend may be difficult, but there’s one concept that ensures you look fabulous all the time; streetwear. Streetwear is a casual, comfortable style that’s trending and would ensure you’re constantly beautiful. Fortunately, streetwear is no more just for teenagers. It’s taking the fashion world by storm. We hope this article helps you pick the bear streetwear for yourself.
