Yachiru Kusajishi, the lieutenant of the 11th Division in the anime and manga “Bleach,” disappears after the battle with Sternritter “V” Guenael Lee. It is later revealed that she is the physical manifestation of Kenpachi Zaraki’s zanpakuto, Nozarashi.
In the “Bleach” series, Yachiru Kusajishi is introduced as a cheerful and mischievous young girl with a close relationship to Kenpachi Zaraki, the captain of the 11th Division. She is often seen riding on his shoulder and has a playful and childlike demeanor. Despite her appearance, Yachiru is a capable Soul Reaper with her own unique zanpakuto.
During the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, Yachiru participates in the fight against the Quincy forces. In a battle against Sternritter “V” Guenael Lee, Yachiru demonstrates her ability to materialize her zanpakuto’s spirit, which takes the form of two small, childlike creatures named Sanpo Kenjuu. However, after this battle, Yachiru mysteriously vanishes, leaving behind only her clothes and her lieutenant’s badge.
The mystery of Yachiru’s disappearance is later explained when Kenpachi Zaraki, during his fight with Sternritter “E” Gremmy Thoumeaux, finally hears the voice of his zanpakuto and learns its name, Nozarashi. It is then that it becomes clear that Yachiru is not a separate entity but rather the personification of Kenpachi’s zanpakuto spirit. This revelation explains her deep connection to Kenpachi and her ability to manifest during his battles.
The concept of zanpakuto spirits being able to manifest in physical forms is not unique to Yachiru, as other Soul Reapers have also interacted with their zanpakuto spirits. However, Yachiru’s constant physical presence alongside Kenpachi throughout the series makes her case particularly unusual. After the revelation, Yachiru does not reappear in the series, and Kenpachi continues to fight using the power of Nozarashi, now fully aware of his zanpakuto’s true nature.
