Tracy Morgan was involved in a serious car accident in 2014 but has since recovered and returned to his career in entertainment.
On June 7, 2014, Tracy Morgan, a comedian and actor known for his work on “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” was critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. A Walmart truck collided with the limousine bus Morgan was riding in, leading to a chain-reaction crash. The collision resulted in the death of Morgan’s friend and fellow comedian, James McNair, also known as Jimmy Mack.
Morgan suffered severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, a broken leg, broken ribs, and various other injuries. His recovery process was extensive and included a lengthy rehabilitation. The accident brought to light issues regarding truck driver fatigue, as the Walmart truck driver had reportedly been awake for more than 24 hours before the crash.
Following the accident, Morgan filed a lawsuit against Walmart, which was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount in 2015. Walmart also reached a settlement with the family of James McNair.
Despite the severity of his injuries, Morgan made a remarkable comeback. He made his first public appearance after the crash at the 2015 Emmy Awards and hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live” in October of the same year. Since then, Morgan has continued to act and perform stand-up comedy. He starred in the TBS comedy series “The Last O.G.” and has been involved in various film projects, demonstrating his resilience and dedication to his craft.
