The resort on Renovation Island, known as Caerula Mar Club, was successfully renovated and opened for business.
Bryan and Sarah Baeumler, the hosts of the HGTV show “Renovation Island,” took on the ambitious project of transforming an abandoned resort on South Andros Island in the Bahamas into a luxury boutique hotel. The resort, originally built in the 1960s and previously named the Emerald Palms, had been closed for years before the Baeumlers discovered it.
The renovation process was extensive and full of challenges, including unexpected costs, supply chain issues, and the impact of Hurricane Dorian. Despite these hurdles, the Baeumlers and their team worked tirelessly to breathe new life into the property. They updated the infrastructure, overhauled the guest rooms, and revitalized the common areas, all while preserving the natural beauty and charm of the location.
The Caerula Mar Club officially opened its doors to guests in February 2020, offering an intimate and luxurious travel experience. The resort features beautifully designed accommodations, fine dining, and a range of amenities set against the backdrop of the stunning Bahamian landscape. The transformation from a dilapidated property to a high-end retreat has been well-received by visitors, making the resort a popular destination for travelers seeking a serene and exclusive getaway.
