Sylvester Stallone’s son, Sage Stallone, passed away in 2012 due to heart disease.
Sage Moonblood Stallone, born on May 5, 1976, was the eldest son of Sylvester Stallone and his first wife, Sasha Czack. He was an actor, film director, and producer, known for his work on short films and for co-founding Grindhouse Releasing, a company dedicated to the preservation and promotion of exploitation films.
Sage made his acting debut alongside his father in the 1990 film “Rocky V,” playing the character Robert Balboa, Jr., the on-screen son of Sylvester Stallone’s iconic character, Rocky Balboa. He appeared again with his father in the 1996 movie “Daylight,” but he also pursued his own career path in the film industry.
Tragically, on July 13, 2012, Sage was found dead in his Los Angeles home at the age of 36. The initial speculation about his death included a possible drug overdose, but the autopsy and toxicology reports ruled this out, concluding that he died of atherosclerosis, which caused a heart attack. Atherosclerosis is a condition where the arteries become clogged with fatty substances, leading to heart problems.
Sage’s untimely death was a significant loss to his family and friends, and it brought attention to the importance of heart health, even among younger adults. Sylvester Stallone publicly expressed his grief, stating that there is no greater pain than losing a child. The film community also mourned the loss of a promising filmmaker and actor.
