The Stryker MK (Mobile Kitchen) was discontinued and replaced with newer systems.
The Stryker MK, which stands for Mobile Kitchen, was a military field kitchen system used by the United States Army. It was designed to provide mobile food service support to soldiers in the field. However, over time, the U.S. Army identified the need for more advanced and efficient systems to feed troops during operations. As a result, the Stryker MK was eventually phased out and replaced with the Containerized Kitchen (CK), which is a more modern and capable system.
The Containerized Kitchen is a part of the Army’s Force Provider and Combat Service Support systems. It is designed to be more efficient in terms of energy consumption, easier to transport, and capable of providing a wider variety of hot meals to soldiers. The CK can be set up and operational within an hour, and it is also designed to be more ergonomic for the personnel operating it. The transition to the CK and other modern kitchen systems reflects the military’s ongoing efforts to improve logistical support and the quality of life for soldiers in the field.
