The portrayal of Shaka’s downfall in the series is a dramatization of historical events, with some artistic liberties taken for narrative purposes. The real Shaka Zulu was indeed assassinated by his half-brothers in 1828, which led to significant changes in the leadership and direction of the Zulu kingdom.
