Marlo Mike, whose real name is Michael Louding, was convicted of multiple counts of murder. He is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Michael Louding, also known as “Marlo Mike,” became infamously connected to a string of murders in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His involvement with the crimes came to light in 2010 when he was arrested at the age of 17. Louding was believed to be an associate of the local rapper Torrence Hatch, better known by his stage name, Lil Boosie.
The most notable case linked to Louding was the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd, for which Lil Boosie was initially charged but later acquitted. During the investigation, Louding confessed to being the hitman in Boyd’s murder, as well as being involved in five other homicides. However, his defense later claimed that his confessions were coerced and that he had been intimidated by law enforcement officials.
Despite the defense’s efforts, in May 2013, Louding was found guilty of first-degree murder for the Boyd case and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. His conviction was a result of a combination of his confession, testimony from other witnesses, and circumstantial evidence presented during the trial.
Louding’s case has been a subject of controversy and discussion, particularly regarding the use of young, vulnerable individuals by more established figures in criminal activities and the reliability of confessions obtained during police interrogations. As of now, Louding remains incarcerated, and his case serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of a life of crime and the complexities of the justice system.
