Marcellus Wiley left “Speak for Yourself” to pursue other opportunities and was replaced by Emmanuel Acho.
Marcellus Wiley, a former NFL player and co-host of the sports talk show “Speak for Yourself” on FS1, decided to leave the show in 2021. His departure was part of a career move to explore new opportunities. Wiley had been with the show since its inception in 2016, initially co-hosting with Colin Cowherd and later with Jason Whitlock. After Whitlock’s departure in 2020, Wiley continued as the main host until his own departure.
Following Wiley’s exit, former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho took over as co-host, joining alongside Wiley’s most recent co-host, Jason McIntyre. Acho brought a fresh perspective to the show, having gained popularity with his “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man” series, which addresses racial issues in America. The transition was part of a broader shakeup in sports media, with networks often reevaluating their lineups to keep content engaging and relevant for their audiences. Wiley’s decision to move on was amicable, and he has continued to be active in the sports media landscape, pursuing new projects and opportunities that align with his career goals and personal interests.
