Leo Sayer continues to be active in the music industry, performing and releasing new material.
Leo Sayer, born Gerard Hugh Sayer on May 21, 1948, is a British singer-songwriter famous for a string of hits in the 1970s and 1980s, such as “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” and “When I Need You.” After his initial success, Sayer’s presence in the charts waned, but he never stopped working in the music industry.
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Sayer continued to tour and release albums, although with less commercial success than in his heyday. His career experienced a resurgence in 2006 when he appeared on the British reality TV show “Just the Two of Us,” and his album “Voice in My Head” was released.
In 2008, Sayer became an Australian citizen, having lived in Sydney since 2005. He has been involved in various projects, including touring, releasing new music, and participating in retro music festivals that celebrate the hits of the ’70s and ’80s.
Sayer’s contributions to music have been recognized with numerous awards and nominations over the years. Despite the natural ebb and flow of the music industry, he has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to engage with audiences through live performances and new releases. His enduring talent and adaptability have allowed him to sustain a career that spans several decades.
