Dave Canterbury faced controversy over falsified military claims but continues to be active in the survivalist community.
Dave Canterbury is a survival expert who gained fame as a co-host on the Discovery Channel show “Dual Survival.” However, in 2011, he was involved in a controversy when it was revealed that he had exaggerated his military record. Canterbury had claimed to have served in the U.S. military as a Ranger, a claim that was later found to be false. As a result of this revelation, he was not asked to return for the third season of “Dual Survival.”
Despite this setback, Dave Canterbury did not disappear from the public eye. He went on to establish the Pathfinder School LLC, which is among the top survival schools in the United States. He has also authored several books on survival techniques, including “Bushcraft 101: A Field Guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival,” which has been well-received within the survivalist community.
Canterbury continues to produce content on wilderness survival and bushcraft through his YouTube channel, which has a substantial following. He also participates in various workshops and training sessions, sharing his knowledge on survival skills. While the controversy did impact his television career, it did not end his role as an educator and influencer in the field of survival training.
