Branch Connally was killed by his father, Barlow Connally.
In the TV series “Longmire,” Branch Connally, played by Bailey Chase, is a deputy in the Absaroka County Sheriff’s Department. Throughout the series, Branch is involved in a complex storyline that includes running against Walt Longmire for sheriff and being obsessed with the idea that David Ridges, a Cheyenne man who was thought to be dead, was responsible for the murder of Walt’s wife.
Branch’s story comes to a tragic end in the third season. After a series of tense events, it is revealed that Branch’s father, Barlow Connally, is deeply involved in the murder of Walt’s wife, as he was trying to make a deal with Jacob Nighthorse to build a casino. Branch confronts his father about the evidence that connects him to the murder. During this confrontation, Barlow admits to his involvement and, in a moment of desperation to protect his secrets and ambitions, shoots Branch with a shotgun, killing him. This act is later revealed to Walt and the other characters, which brings closure to Branch’s arc and contributes to the ongoing narrative of corruption and power struggles in the series.
