The Divine Beasts were tamed by Link and the new Champions, restoring peace to Hyrule.
In “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” the Divine Beasts are ancient Sheikah technology that were originally used 10,000 years before the events of the game to protect the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Calamity Ganon. They are massive, animal-shaped machines piloted by individuals known as Champions. However, when Calamity Ganon returned, he corrupted the Divine Beasts and turned them against Hyrule, killing the Champions in the process.
The game’s protagonist, Link, is tasked with freeing the Divine Beasts from Ganon’s influence. To do this, he must travel to the regions where each Beast is located and help a new Champion from each of the four races (Gorons, Rito, Zora, and Gerudo) to gain access to the Beasts. Once inside, Link must navigate through a series of puzzles and defeat the Ganon-corrupted guardians within.
After Link successfully liberates each Divine Beast, the new Champions take control of them, using their power to weaken Calamity Ganon and aid Link in the final battle. With the Divine Beasts free from Ganon’s control, they take up positions around Hyrule Castle and fire a coordinated blast at Ganon, significantly reducing his power and allowing Link to defeat him, thus restoring peace to Hyrule. The Divine Beasts then return to a dormant state, having fulfilled their purpose in protecting the kingdom.
