Two people made headlines after climbing the spire of the Empire State Building in New York City. The climbers were Angela (Angelina) Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov, a well-known couple famous for photographing themselves on some of the world’s tallest buildings.
After reaching the top, Ivan surprised Angela by getting down on one knee and proposing. She accepted before the two embraced high above the city.

The couple also unfurled a large peace banner that read:

The banner quickly drew attention from people on the ground and from viewers watching videos of the stunt online.
They Were Arrested After Coming Down
The dramatic climb ended with both Nikolau and Kuznetsov being arrested after they safely descended from the building.
Police said the pair bypassed security to reach the top of the skyscraper. They now face several criminal charges, including burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief.
